Since being founded
in 2000 as the Association of Tanzanian Businesswomen, The
Tanzanian Association Women Entrepreneurs has worked
to enhance and protect the position and interests of women
entrepreneurs. Today, we have firmly solidified our position as
the leading organization that champions and facilitates women’s
entrepreneurship as a definitive career path.
In
the 21st century, we are pursuing quality improvement and
embracing the emotional quotient (EQ) era. In other words, we
focused on quantity growth relying on IQ, but the transition
toward knowledge-and information-based industries seems to
require a new paradigm from women resources. That means a wide
range of industries in which women are involved, with their
intelligence, work ethic, and sensitivity, are expected to
flourish in the 21st Century. Those industries are Agriculture,
fashion, IT, Home craft, and
Rural Industries. The association will stay at
the forefront in helping women achieve greater entrepreneurial
success and independence.
With the Government and sponsors support, TAWE will continue its
all-out efforts to encourage women economic empowerment and lead
women to take advantage of their unique characteristics through
economic activities.
TAWE exists to help improve the lives and economic conditions of
Tanzanian women, and woman entrepreneurs. We will continue
to serve as your source of business, legal, and personal
information and inspiration.
TAWE currently has an extremely strong board, whose members are
committed to turning TAWE into a strong and effective voice for
women within the Tanzania business landscape.
Thank you.
